A Pathfinder's review of another Pathfinder's book

Two Pathfinders' roads crossed in a most significant manner in connection with the book "I morgen angriber vi igen" (Tomorrow We Attack Again). One of them is Pathfinder Mie Giversen, a doctor attached to the Danish Armed Forces. The other is Kim Hundevadt, the author of the book. Mie Giversen reviews Kim Hundevadt's outstanding book from 2008 in "Ugeskrift for Læger" (Journal of the Danish Medical Association) No. 40 -2008. It is a documentary account of life in the front line in Helmand Province where Danish soldiers have fought and killed and seen their comrades fall in the war against the Taliban.

Mie Giversen provides an important perspective on Kim Hundevadt's book in her capacity as a physician. Namely, that in this book doctors will find documented knowledge on the conditions that the soldiers stationed abroad and their families are obliged to live with. As Mie points out, this is knowledge that has been extremely hard to come by until now.

Among other things, Mie writes: "The book is an important document in contemporary history. As doctors, it gives us a better point of departure for understanding the soldiers or their families who we meet in connection with our profession and, as members of the public, a balanced insight into the conflict. A sober account of conditions in the front line is therefore a great benefit."

Mie is a Pathfinder from 2003, Kim from 2000. Kim Hundevadt is also familiar among Pathfinders for his "Stifinderen" (The Pathfinder) 2001, and "Stifinderen − om coachen Lasse Zäll og kunsten at skabe forandring" (The Pathfinder – on Coach Lasse Zäll and the Art of Creating Change) 2007.
