Aarhus Opens You - conference with Otto ScharmerHow are we to confront the future? Are we to confront it in terms of the problem formulations and answers that belong to the past - or should we do so creatively and constructively? How can we create more space for more creative encounters with the future?
 This was one of several issues which the Aarhus Opens You conference was supposed to answer. Pathfinder was represented by head coach Lasse Zäll with Professor Lars Østergaard of Skejby Hospital. Lasse and Lars joined forces at a workshop for the conference's participants to present their many years' work with the U-theory.
U-theory transformed into research and development
Lasse Zäll was able to inform interested participants that he has been working with the U-theory since its initial presentation in 1999 at Otto Scharmer. Work with the theory consists, among other things, of employing the methods and theory in leadership development in the Pathfinder Programme. As head of an infectious diseases department at Skejby Hospital, Lars Østergaard was able to supplement Lasse with his experience with the method in relation to research at the hospital.
Through Lasse Zäll and the Pathfinder Programme, Lars Østergaard learned about the theory, as well as about the Canadian medicine man Hawk of the Yellow Wind. Hawk has become a central figure in the development of Lars Østergaard's department. At the workshop, Lars Østergaard explained how Hawk was used in relation to patients as well as staff.
Measurable results
What could the consequences be of inviting in a man with an entirely different background than normally expected in a research environment? The work with Hawk and the U-theory has produced measurable results.
Lasse Zäll was able to supplement by means of reference to the measurable results achieved in the Pathfinder Programme.
