It's all about people. It's all about energy!
All companies have their own unique corporate culture. And today most companies are very conscious about working strategically with their corporate culture: Who are we as a company, what are our roots, in which direction are we headed, and how are we going to get there? And more importantly: Which common ground is needed to get there? Not only in the way we organise the company, but also the way we collaborate; the way we treat one another and our customers; the way we relate to the outside world and our environment, etc.
The corporate culture is interpreted and put into practice by the different departments in the company. And this practice may differ in detail. This is one of the reasons why company mergers can be such a great challenge. The leader of a new department created from several different departments may experience opposite ways of communicating and people being used to completely different styles of leadership.
